The Toronto Blue Jays and the Detroit Tigers meet Sunday in MLB action from Comerica Park. Here’s a Detroit Tigers vs Toronto Blue Jays prediction. This will be the final installment in a four-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview

Toronto took on the Chicago White Sox this week. The Jays fell 5-0 in game two of that set, but won the other pair 9-3 and 9-2. In their first two games versus the Tigers, Toronto took a blowout win 9-1 then fell 6-2 on Friday. In the Saturday matchup the Blue Jays lost again, this time 2-1. Jose Berrios put up 7.0 innings with two earned runs on six hits.

In the starter slot for the Sunday finale the Blue Jays will send out Yusei Kikuchi. This year Kikuchi is 2-4 with a 2.64 ERA and 61 Ks in 58.0 innings over 10 starts. Kikuchi is 34-41 with a 4.54 ERA in 144 games (132 starts).

Over on the Detroit side, they played the Kansas City Royals in their last set. The Tigers took a three-game sweep in that one, falling 8-3, 10-3 and 8-3. In their Friday win, Detroit managed seven team hits. On Saturday the Tigers scored twice in the first inning and never looked back. Reese Olson managed 6.1 clean frames with three hits and three walks.

It’ll be Casey Mize in the starting pitcher role for the Tigers on Sunday. This year Mize is 1-3 with a 4.57 ERA in nine starts. He’s got 34 Ks in 45.1 innings. Mize is 8-16 with a 4.35 ERA in 48 career starts.

Detroit Tigers vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction

I’ll stick with the Blue Jays. Probably not touching this one, though. Kikuchi is 0-2 in his last three starts but he hasn’t pitched too badly. In that time he’s given up five earned runs over 18.1 total innings on 15 hits and four walks. As for Mize, he’s coming off a rough outing (1.2 innings; six earned) versus the Royals. Prior to that Mize had only three earned across 12.0 innings, though.

On Saturday the Jays had another rough day at the plate, notching six hits overall (two from Isiah Kiner-Falefa). The good news is that Toronto only used one arm out of the bullpen (Jordan Romano), so they’ve got a lot of options for the finale. The offense needs to come along for the ride, though.
