Giants vs Reds Prediction 4/7/25 MLB Picks Today

In this article we will formulate a Giants vs Reds prediction for this MLB game on Monday, April 7th at Oracle Park in San Francisco, California. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this MLB matchup.

San Francisco Giants Betting Preview

The San Francisco Giants are 8-1 this year after they won all three games against the Mariners by scores of 10-9, 4-1, and 5-4. In that game three win, the Giants trailed 2-0 early in the game, but ended up blowing a 4-3 lead in the ninth, before winning in the bottom half of the inning. The Giants recorded seven hits and committed one error in the game, while they were led by Yastrzemski, who went 1-3 with one home run and three RBIs in the win. San Francisco started Hicks, who allowed six hits and three earned runs over 5.1 innings, while Doval blew the save in the ninth, but did get the win.

Prior to that series, the Giants swept the Astros in three games and won two out of three against the Reds. The San Francisco pitching staff has a 2.85 ERA with a 1.24 WHIP and a .233 opponent batting average, while the offense has scored 49 runs with a .238 batting average and a .309 on base percentage this season. Wilmer Flores has led San Francisco with four home runs and 12 RBIs, while Heliot Ramos has added three home runs and nine RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for San Francisco is Logan Webb, who is 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP over 12.0 innings pitched this season.

Cincinnati Reds Betting Preview

The Cincinnati Reds are 3-7 this season after they lost three out of four against the Brewers by scores of 0-1, 2-3, 11-7, and 2-8. In game four of that series, the Reds allowed the first seven runs in the game, but did score one in the fifth and one in the eighth to avoid the shutout. Cincinnati recorded five hits and they committed one error in the game, while they were led by Friedl and Steer, who both had one RBI in the loss. The Reds started Spiers, who allowed five hits and four earned runs over 3.1 innings, while Moll allowed two hits and three earned runs over just 0.2 relief innings.

Prior to that series, the Reds lost two out of three against the Rangers and two out of three against the Giants. The Cincinnati pitching staff has a 3.41 ERA with a 1.02 WHIP and a .201 opponent batting average, while their offense has scored 39 runs with a .210 batting average and a .269 on base percentage this season. Elly De La Cruz has led Cincinnati with two home runs and 10 RBIs, while Matt McLain has added three home runs and five RBIs so far this year. The projected starting pitcher for Cincinnati is Hunter Greene, who is 0-1 with a 2.25 ERA and a 0.67 WHIP over 12.0 innings pitched this season.

Giants vs Reds Prediction

San Francisco rolls into this matchup with one of the best records in the MLB through nine games and they have scored at least five runs in three of their last four. Cincinnati has dropped five of their last six games, which included three straight 1-0 losses, and the offense has been a huge problem for them this season. Both of these starting pitchers are very good and have looked solid to start the year, but I have to side with the Giants at home, as I can’t trust the Cincinnati offense.
