Kansas City Royals vs Chicago White Sox Prediction 9-5-23 MLB Picks

The Chicago White Sox and the Kansas City Royals meet Tuesday in MLB action from Kauffman Stadium. This will be the second installment in a three-game series. In the Monday opener, the Royals took a blowout win. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Chicago White Sox

The Sox played the Tigers over the weekend, losing all three games for a sweep. In Sunday’s 3-2 loss, Chicago’s Eloy Jimenez and Elvis Andrus each had an RBI. On Monday versus the Royals, the White Sox had just three hits in a 12-1 blowout loss. Starter Jesse Scholtens put up 3.2 innings with five earned on nine hits and a walk.

In the starter role for game two it’ll be Chicago’s Dylan Cease. In his 28 starts so far Cease is 6-7 with a 4.91 ERA and 176 Ks in 148.1 innings. Cease is 2-4 with a 7.79 ERA over his last seven starts.

Kansas City Royals

Over on the Royals’ side, they took on the Red Sox in their weekend series. Kansas City lost two of three, including a 7-3 defeat on Sunday. Dairon Blanco finished with two RBI in the futile effort. On Monday the Royals scored seven runs in the fifth inning alone on the way to 16 team hits. Edward Olivares finished with three hits, two homers and three RBI.

It’ll be Brady Singer in the starter role for the Royals on Tuesday. Over 26 starts this season Singer is 8-10 with a 5.15 ERA and 125 Ks in 143.1 innings. In his last seven starts Singer is 2-2 with a 3.76 ERA and 44 Ks in 40.2 innings.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’ll probably take a stab on the Royals here. Probably also staying away. Neither starting pitcher has been great lately. Singer is 0-2 in his last pair with eight earned in 7.2 innings. As for Cease, he’s given up 17 earned runs over his last 15.0 frames in three starts. If neither starter is on, this game could get out of hand early. On Monday Kansas City posted runs in each of the first five innings and didn’t have too many issues on either side. This one won’t be so easy, but if the Royals can keep the bats going I think they’ll be fine.
