In this article we will formulate a Kansas City Royals vs Seattle Mariners prediction for this MLB game on Sunday, June 9th at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Let’s take a look at the prediction for game three in the series.

Royals are Back on the Right Track

The Kansas City Royals are 39-26 this year and they have won three games in a row. Kansas City has won the first two games in this series by scores of 10-9 and 8-4. Prior to this series, the Royals split two games with the Guardians, lost two out of three against the Padres, and lost three out of four against the Twins. Kansas City is just 5-7 in their last 12 games, but they are just three games behind Cleveland in the AL Central.

The Kansas City pitching staff has a 3.66 ERA, a 1.27 WHIP, and a .241 opponent batting average. The Royals offense has scored 324 runs with a .254 batting average and a .316 on base percentage. Bobby Witt is batting .322 with 11 home runs and 47 RBI’s for the Royals this season. The Seattle Mariners are 36-30 this season and they have lost three of their last four games. Seattle has dropped the first two games in this series and they have allowed 18 runs in the two losses. Prior to this series, the Mariners won two out of three against the Athletics, swept the Angels in three games, and won three out of four against the Astros. Seattle is 9-4 in their last 13 games and they are first in the AL West.

Julio Rodriguez is batting .266 with five home runs and 24 RBI’s for the Mariners this season. Seattle is 24th in runs scored this year, but they have scored at least four runs in six of their last eight games.

Starting Pitchers

The projected starting pitcher for Kansas City is Cole Ragans, who is 4-4 with a 3.21 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP over 73.0 innings pitched this season. Ragans has allowed two earned runs or fewer in four straight starts and has allowed a total of three earned runs in those four outings (24.0 IP). The projected starting pitcher for Seattle is George Kirby, who is 5-5 with a 4.05 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP over 73.1 innings pitched this year. Kirby has allowed two earned runs or fewer in three of his last five starts, but did allow five earned runs in the other two outings in that span.

Kansas City Royals vs Seattle Mariners Prediction

Kanas City has won two very wild games to start this series and they will go for the sweep here. The Royals are 24-10 at home this season and they have been one of the better teams in the MLB. Seattle is 15-19 on the road and while they haven’t been great, they still have a nice lead in the AL West. Seattle is starting Kirby, who has been up and down this season, and will have his hands full with the KC lineup. The Royals are going with Ragans, who has been very good recently. Seattle’s offense has been inconsistent all season and I will gladly take Ragans and the Royals here. My Kansas City Royals vs Seattle Mariners prediction is for Kansas City to get the win.
