LA Angels vs Oakland Athletics Prediction 6-24-24 Picks

The Oakland Athletics and the Los Angeles Angels meet Monday in MLB action from Angel Stadium. Here’s a Los Angeles Angels vs Oakland Athletics prediction. This will be the first installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

Oakland Athletics Betting Preview

The A’s took on the Minnesota Twins over the weekend. Oakland won the first installment of that set 6-5 then took a 10-2 loss in game two. In the rubber match the A’s took a shutout loss 3-0. Starter Hogan Harris managed 6.0 innings with three earned on five hits and two walks.

In the starter slot for the Monday game the A’s will go with Luis Medina. In 2024 Medina is 1-2 with a 4.71 ERA in four starts. Medina is 4-12 with a 5.30 ERA in 27 career games (21 starts). The Athletics will meet the Diamondbacks, Angels, and Orioles after this series.

Los Angeles Angels Betting Preview

Over on the Angels’ side, they played the Los Angeles Dodgers in their last series. LA similarly split their first two games 3-2 (win) Friday and 7-2 (loss) Saturday. On Sunday the Angels stumbled to a 7-2 loss. Zach Plesac left the start after 3.1 innings, seven hits, one walk and six earned.

Griffin Canning will take the starter role for the Angels in the Monday matchup. This year Canning is 2-8 with a 5.02 ERA in 15 starts. Canning is 21-29 with a 4.66 ERA in 82 games (78 starts) over his career.

Los Angeles Angels vs Oakland Athletics Prediction

I’ll try the A’s in this one. At least some of that is due to Canning’s recent struggles. Over his last three starts combined Canning is 0-3 with 12 earned runs in 17.1 innings total from 19 hits and five walks. Oakland should have some early opportunities if Canning can’t get it together.

On Sunday the A’s could only muster three team hits—two of which were from Miguel Andujar. The good news is that the Oakland pen was good, and Harris really only had a couple of mistakes in his six innings. I like the A’s to bounce back Monday.
