In this article we will formulate a Mariners vs Tigers prediction for this MLB game on Friday, October 10th at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, Washington. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this MLB Divisional Series matchup.

Seattle Mariners Betting Preview

The Seattle Mariners are tied 2-2 in this series after they lost game four by a score of 9-3 on Wednesday. Seattle led 3-0 in the fifth inning, but the wheels came off and the bullpen couldn’t get anyone out, resulting in the lopsided loss. The Mariners recorded eight hits in the game and they were led by Raleigh and Canzone, who both had one RBI in the loss. Seattle started Miller, who allowed four hits and two earned runs over 4.1 innings, while Speier picked up the loss in relief.

Prior to this series, the Mariners had a bye in the Wild Card round, but did lose all three against the Dodgers to end the regular season. Seattle has lost five of their last seven games and they finished first in the AL West standings. The Seattle pitching staff had a 3.87 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP and a .241 opponent batting average, while the offense scored 766 runs with a .244 batting average and a .320 on base percentage this season. Cal Raleigh led Seattle with 60 home runs and 125 RBIs, while Julio Rodriguez added 32 home runs and 95 RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for Seattle is George Kirby, who is 0-0 with a 3.60 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP over 5.0 innings pitched this series.

Detroit Tigers Betting Preview

The Detroit Tigers tied the series at two games a piece with a 9-3 win on Wednesday in game four. Detroit couldn’t get anything going at the plate in the first four innings, but they scored three in the fifth and four in the sixth to pull away for the blowout win. The Tigers recorded 13 hits in the game and they were led by Baez, who went 2-4 with one home run and four RBIs in the win. Detroit started Mize, who allowed two hits and one earned run over 3.0 innings, while Melton pitched three innings and picked up the win.

Prior to this series, the Tigers defeated the Guardians in three games in the Wild Card round, but did lose two out of three against Cleveland and Boston to end the regular season. Detroit has won four of their seven games in the playoffs and they finished second in the AL Central standings. The Detroit pitching staff has a 3.14 ERA with a 1.06 WHIP and a .203 opponent batting average, while the offense has scored 27 runs with a .218 batting average and a .302 on base percentage in the postseason. Javier Baez has led Detroit with one home run and five RBIs, while Spencer Torkelson has added zero home runs and six RBIs in the playoffs. The projected starting pitcher for Detroit is Tarik Skubal, who is 1-0 with a 1.84 ERA and a 0.82 WHIP over 14.2 innings pitched this postseason.

Mariners vs Tigers Prediction

Detroit looked like they were going to lose both games at home to lose this series, but they woke up in the fifth inning of game four to steal the win. The Tigers found offense out of nowhere and now have all of the momentum coming into this game. Detroit is starting Skubal, who has allowed two earned runs or fewer in eight of his last nine starts. Seattle is going with Kirby, who has allowed two earned runs or fewer in four straight. This is a great pitching matchup, but I have to side with Detroit here.
