Meyer isn’t on the same level as Eury Perez and Sandy Alcantara, but there’s hope he can be a strong middle-of-the-rotation pitcher. Just 25 career starts under his belt and 27 years old, this is Meyer’s chance to finally settle in. Quintana is an accomplished vet and you have to respect him but at 37 years old, he’s pretty much just an innings eater at this point. I’ve mentioned already that I think the Marlins can compete for a wild card spot. Through two games they’re off to a fine start. I’m going to keep riding with them, and I’ll take the RL to shave down the juice.
