Mexico vs Canada Prediction – WBC Picks 3/15/23

Mexico and Canada face off on Wednesday in a Pool C World Baseball Classic showdown at Chase Field.

Mexico Betting Preview

Mexico comes into this game with a 2-1 record overall, and this is a basically a must win for them. The big win for Mexico was over the United States, and that was a victory no one really saw coming. The offense was elite, and they need that to happen again. On Tuesday Mexico played the late-night game against Great Britain, and the offense only scored two runs, but that was enough to secure the victory. Alexis Wilson had a strong game finishing with two hits and two RBIs. The offense wasn’t all that impressive and they really had to lean on the pitching. They know if they win this game, they advance, and they can’t expect the offense is going to be as strong again. Mexico needs to find a way to get the offense going more, or they could lose this game.

Canada Betting Preview

On the other side of this matchup is Canada who sits with a 2-1 record, but the one loss was a really ugly one. Canada opened up the World Baseball Classic with an 18-8 victory over Great Britain. In the second game, Canada faced off against the United States and they were defeated 12-1 in 7 innings. There were some questions about the pitching heading into the tournament and the first two games showed there needed to be some improvement on the mound. On Tuesday against Colombia, Canada had some strong pitching, and they were able to secure the 5-0 victory. Otto Lopez had another strong game finishing with two hits, two runs and three RBIs. If the pitching is good in this game, Canada is going to have a great chance.

Shane’s Free Pick

This might be the toughest game on the board to handicap. I do trust this Mexico pitching though, and the same thing can’t be said for Canada. The pitching for Canada really struggled against the United States, and Mexico is going to take advantage of that. Look for Mexico to get the bats going early, and they are going to secure the victory here.
