Miami Marlins vs Baltimore Orioles MLB Picks, Odds, Predictions 4/20/21

The Baltimore Orioles and the Miami Marlins meet in MLB action from Marlins Park on Tuesday night.

The Baltimore Orioles will look to bounce back from a 1-0 extra innings loss to Texas last time out. Cedric Mullins leads the O’s with a .355 batting average, a .412 OBP and 22 hits with a team-high 7 doubles while Trey Mancini has a team-high 3 home runs with 11 RBIs while Maikel Franco has a team-high 14 RBIs. Ryan Mountcastle also leads the Orioles with 21 strikeouts this season. Matt Harvey is expected to get the start here and is 0-1 with a 5.02 ERA and 12 strikeouts this season. In his career, Harvey is 2-4 with a 4.31 ERA and 64 strikeouts against Miami.

The Miami Marlins will try to rebound from a 1-0 loss to the San Francisco Giants in their last game. Jazz Chisholm Jr. leads the Fish with a .325 batting average and a .451 OBP while Starling Marte has a team-high 18 hits. Miguel Rojas leads the Fish with 5 doubles while Corey Dickerson has 4 doubles and Adam Duvall leads the Marlins with 4 home runs and 11 RBIs. Nick Neidert is expected to get the start here and is 0-0 with a 4.00 ERA and 6 strikeouts this season. This will be Neidert’s first career start against Baltimore.

Baltimore is 5-2 in their last 7 games against a team with a losing record and 11-5 in their last 16 interleague games while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 Tuesday games. Miami is 6-2 in their last 8 games overall and 2-5 in their last 7 games as a home favorite while the under is 4-0-1 in their last 5 games following a loss. The under is 7-2 in the last 9 meetings between these two teams.

I’m not sure what to make of the pitching matchup here, as I’m not much of a Matt Harvey fan and I still don’t know what Nick Neidert’s bringing to the table for the Fish. The first thought here may be to lean to the over, but I’m not sure I can rely on either offense to get us close to that total. Give me the under in this spot.
