The Philadelphia Phillies and the Miami Marlins meet in an NL East division matchup in MLB action from LoanDePot Park on Saturday.
The Philadelphia Phillies will look to add to their 5-0 win over Miami from Friday night’s action. Bryce Harper leads the Phillies with a .308 batting average, a .428 OBP, 35 home runs and 84 RBIs with a team-high 41 doubles while Jean Segura has tied Harper with a team-high 149 hits. J.T. Realmuto also has a team-high 4 triples this season. Hans crouse will make the start here and is 0-1 with a 3.00 ERA and 1 strikeout.
The Miami Marlins will try to rebound from being on the wrong end of the shutout decision in their loss to the Phillies on Friday. Miguel Rojas leads the Marlins with a .262 batting average and 129 hits with 30 doubles while Jesus Aguilar has team-highs of 22 home runs, 93 RBIs and a .329 OBP. Rojas has 3 triples this season but it’s Jazz Chisholm Jr. who leads the Marlins with.4 triples this season. Jesus Luzardo will start here and is 5-9 with a 6.90 ERA and 87 strikeouts this season.
Philadelphia is 4-1 in their last 5 Saturday games and 0-4 in their last 4 division games while the under is 5-1-1 in their last 7 road games. Miami is 1-8 in their last 9 games overall and 0-5 in their last 5 game two matchups while the over is 5-0 in their last 5 home games.
This is an interesting game between two teams that have been out of the playoff picture, one much longer than the other with Miami not being able to replicate their success from last year’s shortened season. With that said, I’m leaning towards the over here as Jesus Luzardo leaves little confidence in keeping runs scarce on the mound while I know barely anything about Hans Crouse and I’m not sure how much of an impact he makes early on here. Give me the over in this one.
