The Philadelphia Phillies and the Miami Marlins meet Friday in MLB action from LoanDepot Park. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Miami Marlins vs Philadelphia Phillies Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Philadelphia Phillies will send out Aaron Nola for the start here and Nola is 12-6 with a 3.29 ERA and 162 strikeouts this season. In his last five starts against Miami, Nola is 0-3 with a 4.91 ERA and 37 strikeouts. Darren McCaughan will get the start for Miami here and is 0-0 with an 8.24 ERA and 10 strikeouts this season. This will be McCaughan’s first career start against Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Phillies Recap

The Philadelphia Phillies will be out to build some momentum after ending up with a 16-2 rout in game two of the series on Friday. The win gave the Phillies at worst a series split with the Fish, extending the win streak to six and giving Philly a chance at another series win after taking out the Braves and Blue Jays in the last week and a half.

Phillies Looking To Keep Momentum Going To Playoffs

Alec Bohm leads the Phillies with 147 hits including 44 doubles, a .290 batting average, and 89 RBIs while Bryce Harper has 26 home runs with 78 RBIs and Bryson Stott has a team-high 29 stolen bases. Kyle Schwarber has a team-high 33 home runs, 92 RBIs, and 172 strikeouts as well this season. Johan Rojas also has 23 stolen bases as well this season.

Miami Marlins Recap

The Miami Marlins will try to salvage something from this series after getting their teeth kicked in in Friday’s loss. The loss put Miami at risk of failing to add to their split with the Washington Nationals from earlier this week.

Marlins Playing Out The String

Jake Burger leads the Marlins with 25 home runs and 60 RBIs along with 111 hits while Jesus Sanchez has 17 home runs and 58 RBIs with 20 doubles. Xavier Edwards also has a team-high 22 stolen bases while Burger has the dubious distinction of leading the Marlins with 127 strikeouts this season.

Miami Marlins vs Philadelphia Phillies Prediction

I’m on the Phillies here. Nola doesn’t have the best numbers recently in his career against the Fish, but he’s still the better option here with the better and more consistent lineup behind him as the Marlins have had no answer and the Phillies’ bats are hot right now. In the end, I think the Marlins could provide value at some point, but not here. Give me Philadelphia -1.5.
