Arizona Diamondbacks Betting Preview

The Diamondbacks are fresh off a series versus the Colorado Rockies. Arizona lost the first two games of that set 3-2 and 8-2. On Wednesday the Diamondbacks were up 6-0 by the end of the second inning and rolled to a 9-4 win.

In the starter slot for Arizona on Thursday it’ll be Brandon Pfaadt. This year Pfaadt is 9-9 with a 4.81 ERA in 29 starts. Pfaadt is 12-18 with a 5.18 ERA in 48 career games (47 starts). The Diamondbacks will meet the Giants after this series.

Milwaukee Brewers Betting Preview

Over on the Brewers’ side, they played the Philadelphia Phillies in their last series. Milwaukee split the first two games 6-2 (win) and 5-1 (loss). In the Wednesday rubber match the Brewers would power out a tight 2-1 win. Starter Freddy Peralta lasted 5.0 innings with one earned run.

As the starting pitcher for Thursday’s opener, the Brewers are going with Tobias Myers. So far Myers is 8-5 with a 3.07 ERA over the first 24 games (23 starts) of his MLB career.

Milwaukee Brewers vs Arizona Diamondbacks Prediction

I’ll lean toward the Brewers. Myers had some rough spots in his last outing versus the Diamondbacks on September 14 (6.0 innings; four earned) but he still got the win. In the two starts prior to that Myers went 1-0 with three earned over 11.2 combined innings. As for Pfaadt, he’s given up 12 earned runs in 6.1 innings over his last two outings.

On Wednesday the Brewers only had five team hits but got a nice overall pitching performance. Milwaukee used four arms out of the bullpen though, so Myers needs to notch a good start here.
