Philadelphia Phillies Betting Preview

Over the weekend the Phillies played the New York Mets. Philadelphia lost the opener of that set then took the next pair 6-4 and 2-1. After a 6-2 loss to Milwaukee in the opener, on Tuesday the Phillies posted 10 hits on the way to a 5-1 victory. Starter Zack Wheeler posted 7.0 innings with one earned in the start.

The starter for Wednesday will be Philly’s Aaron Nola. This year Nola is 12-8 with a 3.62 ERA in 30 starts. Nola is 102-79 with a 3.71 ERA in 265 career starts.

Milwaukee Brewers Betting Preview

Over on the Brewers’ side, they were able to win their first two weekend games over the Arizona Diamondbacks but lost 11-10 Sunday in a wild game. On Tuesday the Brewers briefly had the game tied 1-1 but couldn’t score after the fourth. Starter Frankie Montas went 5.2 innings with three earned runs and 10 strikeouts.

It’ll be Freddy Peralta in the starter slot on Wednesday. This year Peralta is 11-8 with a 3.75 ERA in 30 starts. Over 176 career games (127 starts) Peralta is 53-35 with a 3.81 ERA.

Milwaukee Brewers vs Philadelphia Phillies Prediction

I’ll lean toward the Brewers. Probably staying away, though. Peralta hasn’t been too bad over his last trio. He’s 2-1 in those three with seven earned runs in 15.0 total innings. As for Nola, he’s struggled in his last pair with 10 earned over 9.0 total frames.

On Tuesday the Brewers could only muster five team hits, and two of them belonged to Garrett Mitchell (RBI). The bullpen gave up two earned in 3.1 innings and Montas had a few stumbles. Milwaukee needs to regroup for Wednesday’s finale.
