Milwaukee Brewers vs San Diego Padres Prediction 4-15-24 Picks

The San Diego Padres and the Milwaukee Brewers meet Monday in MLB action from American Family Field. Here’s a Padres vs Brewers prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game. We will examine:

San Diego Padres Betting Preview

The Padres took on the Los Angeles Dodgers in their weekend series. San Diego eked out a one-run win in the opener before a 5-2 loss Saturday. In game three the Padres came back from a 3-1 deficit to post a nice win 6-3. The Padres posted eight team hits along the way. Starter Yu Darvish put up 5.0 innings with three earned runs on four hits and two walks.

In the starting pitcher role for the Padres on Monday it’ll be Joe Musgrove. In four starts this year Musgrove is 1-2 with a 6.87 ERA and 17 strikeouts over 18.1 innings. Musgrove has a career record of 61-59 with a 3.78 ERA in 191 games (165 starts).

Milwaukee Brewers Betting Preview

Over on the Brewers’ side, they’re fresh off a series versus the Orioles. Milwaukee won the first two installments of that set 11-1 and 11-5, then on Sunday the Brewers took a 6-4 loss by blowing a 4-3 lead in the seventh. William Contreras and Blake Perkins each posted solo homers in the losing effort.

It’ll be Joe Ross in the starting pitcher role for the Brewers on Monday. Over his two starts this year Ross is 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA and 10 Ks in 10.0 innings. Ross is 27-28 with a 4.21 ERA in 100 career games (78 starts).

Padres vs Brewers Prediction

I’ll probably stick with the Brewers. Ross is coming off a pretty good showing in a victory versus the Reds. He went 6.1 innings in that one, posting two earned on five hits and a walk. Another quality start from Ross should set the Brewers up well on Monday.

In their Sunday matchup Milwaukee posted 12 team hits in a pretty nice offensive showing. The bad news is that the Brewers coughed up 11 hits on the other side and blew a late lead. The bullpen gave up three earned on six hits and one walk in 2.1 innings. Milwaukee obviously needs a better pitching effort on Monday, but I think they’ve got a shot.
