The Chicago White Sox and the Minnesota Twins meet Tuesday in MLB action from Target Field. Chicago is coming off a weekend series versus the Tigers. The Sox were swept in that one. As for the Twins, they played the Angels in their last series, losing two of three. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Chicago didn’t have any luck against the Tigers in their weekend series. The Sox fell 5-3 in the Friday game, then 7-2 in the Saturday matchup. The Sox completed the bad side of the sweep with a 4-1 loss. Chicago has lost six straight games in total.

Starter for the Tuesday matchup will be Chicago’s Lance Lynn. In his 19 starts so far Lynn is 7-6 with a 4.02 ERA. In 109.2 innings total he has 49 earned, 104 hits, 17 walks and 116 Ks.

Over on the Twins’ side, they lost to the Angels 4-2 in the Friday opener of their last series. Minnesota would strike back in game two with an 8-4 win, however. In the Sunday rubber match, the Twins took a 10-3 defeat.

Bailey Ober will take the mound for the Twins on Tuesday. Over his nine starts so far Ober is 1-3 with a 3.71 ERA. In 43.2 innings total he has 18 earned on 44 hits and nine walks with 37 strikeouts.

The White Sox are 1-4 in their last five Tuesday games. Chicago is 0-6 in their last six overall and 2-5 in their last seven versus a team with a losing record.

Meanwhile, the Twins are 17-35 in their last 52 Tuesday games and 4-10 in their last 14 after an off day. Minnesota is 1-6 in their last seven overall.

PICK: I’m going to try the White Sox in this one. There’s not a whole lot to like about the way both these teams have been playing, however. That said, Lynn has done pretty well over his last three starts with five combined earned in 18.1 innings on 18 hits and three walks. Lynn is 2-1 in that stretch. As for Ober, he’s got eight earned in 16.0 innings over his last three starts and is 0-2 in that time. Lynn’s going to need some help from the offense but he should set them up well.
