The Tampa Bay Rays and the Minnesota Twins meet Wednesday in MLB action from Target Field. Here’s a Minnesota Twins vs Tampa Bay Rays prediction. This will be the second installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

Tampa Bay Rays Betting Preview

The Rays played the Atlanta Braves in their weekend set. Tampa Bay lost the first two installments of that series but staved off the sweep with an 8-6 Sunday win. On Tuesday versus the Twins, the Rays took a tough walk-off loss 7-6. Starter Aaron Civale left after 3.2 innings, four earned, seven hits and two walks.

In the starter role for Tampa Bay on Wednesday it’ll be Taj Bradley. So far this year Bradley is 2-4 with a 4.23 ERA and 50 Ks in 38.1 innings over seven starts. Bradley is 7-12 with a 5.22 ERA in 30 career games (28 starts).

Minnesota Twins Betting Preview

Over on the Twins’ side, they played four games versus the Oakland Athletics over the weekend. Minnesota did very well in that series, taking the sweep with all four wins. On Tuesday the Twins out-hit the Rays 13-8 in the win and scored four in the fourth inning. Pablo Lopez put up 4.0 frames in the start with five earned on seven hits and a walk.

It’ll be Joe Ryan as starter in the Wednesday matchup. Ryan is 5-5 over 14 starts this year with a 3.24 ERA and 90 strikeouts in 86.0 innings. Over his career Ryan is 31-24 with a 3.89 ERA in 75 starts.

Minnesota Twins vs Tampa Bay Rays Prediction

I’ll try the Rays. Probably not touching it, though. Back on June 1 Bradley had a bad start versus the O’s with a whopping nine earned in 3.1 innings during a loss. Since then Bradley is 1-1 with 12.0 innings and just one earned on six hits and three walks, though. As for Ryan, he’s 1-2 in his last trio with nine earned in 19.0 combined innings. We should have a good starter matchup here if both guys are on point.

On Tuesday the Rays had a 4-0 lead at one point and a 6-4 lead at another. Tampa couldn’t hold on to either one. The good news is that the offense did pretty well overall. The bad news is that the Rays need a much better pitching outing from a depleted pen Wednesday.
