NY Mets vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction 8-20-24 MLB Picks

The Baltimore Orioles and the New York Mets meet Tuesday in MLB action from LoanDepot Park. Here’s a NY Mets vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction. This will be the first installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Mets vs Orioles pick.

Baltimore Orioles Betting Preview

The Orioles played the rival Boston Red Sox over the weekend. Baltimore was able to win two of those four games, but lost the other pair. On Monday versus the Mets, the O’s took a tough walk-off loss 4-3. Starter Trevor Rogers lasted 4.2 innings with three earned.

As starter for Tuesday it’ll be Dean Kremer for the Orioles. This year Kremer is 5-9 with a 4.48 ERA in 17 starts. Kremer is 27-29 with a 4.38 ERA in 88 games (87 starts).

New York Mets Betting Preview

Over on the Mets’ side, they played the Miami Marlins in their last series. New York won the first pair before a 3-2 loss on Sunday. In the opener versus Baltimore, the Mets got the walk-off homer from Francisco Alvarez. David Peterson went 7.0 innings in the start with two earned runs.

Starter for Tuesday will be New York’s Jose Quintana. This season Quintana is 6-8 with a 4.26 ERA in 24 starts. Quintana is 98-101 with a 3.78 ERA in 352 games (326 starts) over his career.

NY Mets vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction

I’ll try the Orioles here. I could go either way, though; this one’s going to depend on the starters. Kremer posted a win in his last start with 6.0 innings and one earned versus the Nationals. In his two starts prior though, Kremer went 0-2 with nine earned in 9.1 innings. As for Quintana, he’s given up 12 earned runs over his last three starts in 15.2 innings total.

On Monday the O’s gave up the walk-off bomb and fell out of first place in the division. Coming back from a 3-0 deficit was quite a dramatic way to lose, but Baltimore needs to get back to business. I like them to rebound well in game two.
