NY Mets vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction 8-21-24 MLB Picks

The Baltimore Orioles and the New York Mets meet Wednesday in MLB action from LoanDepot Park. Here’s a NY Mets vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction. This will be the final installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Mets vs Orioles pick.

Baltimore Orioles Betting Preview

In their last series the Orioles played the Boston Red Sox. Baltimore was able to split that series with wins Thursday and Sunday. After a 4-3 loss to the Mets in their opener, in game two the O’s powered out a win 9-5. Dean Kremer put up 6.0 innings in the start with one earned run.

Zach Eflin will start for the Orioles in the finale. This year Eflin is 9-7 with a 3.72 ERA in 23 starts. Eflin is 61-60 with a 4.20 ERA in 181 games (169 starts) during his career.

New York Mets Betting Preview

Over on the Mets’ side, they played the Miami Marlins in their weekend set. New York won the first two games before a 3-2 Sunday loss stopped the sweep. On Tuesday the Mets had a big four-run eighth inning but fell short. Starter Jose Quintana imploded on 5.0 innings and seven earned.

Starter for the Wednesday game will be Sean Manaea. This season Manaea is 9-5 with a 3.46 ERA in 24 starts. Manaea is 74-61 with a 4.03 ERA in 220 games (190 starts) across his career in the MLB.

NY Mets vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction

I’ll stay with the Orioles. We should have a fun starter matchup here, though. Eflin is 3-0 over his last three starts, notching just three earned runs across 19.1 innings of work combined during that time. As for Manaea, he’s got six earned over his last 17.0 innings, going 2-1 in that time.

On Tuesday the O’s got a scare with a bad outing from Burch Smith (0.1 innings; three earned) but everything turned out well thanks to a strong offensive effort. Baltimore bagged 11 team hits along the way, including two from three different players. I like the O’s to keep it rolling in the finale.
