NY Yankees vs Atlanta Braves Prediction 6-22-24 Picks

The Atlanta Braves and the New York Yankees meet Saturday in MLB action from Yankee Stadium. Here’s a NY Yankees vs Atlanta Braves Prediction. This will be the second installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

Atlanta Braves Betting Preview

The Braves’ last series was against the Detroit Tigers. Atlanta performed pretty well in that set, winning all three games 2-1, 2-1 and 7-0. In the Friday opener matchup versus New York, the Braves posted 14 hits in an 8-1 victory. Chris Sale lasted 5.0 innings in the start with one earned on one hit and three walks.

In the starter role for the Braves on Saturday it’ll be Charlie Morton. This year Morton is 4-3 with a 3.91 ERA in 13 starts. He has 76 Ks in 73.2 innings total. Morton is 134-116 with a 4.00 career ERA in 366 games (365 starts).

New York Yankees Betting Preview

Over on the Yankees’ side, they had some trouble with the rival Baltimore Orioles this week. New York won 4-2 in the opener of that series, then lost 7-6 and 17-5 in the next pair. On Friday the Yankees had just three hits in the blowout defeat.

It’ll be Marcus Stroman in the starter role for the Yankees on Saturday. So far Stroman is 6-3 with a 3.08 ERA and 61 Ks in 84.2 innings across 15 starts. Stroman is 83-79 with a 3.62 ERA in 246 career games (238 starts).

Yankees vs Braves Pick Injury Notes

Yankees 2B Gleyber Torres (groin) reportedly did not suffer a serious injury Thursday versus the Orioles. CF Jasson Dominguez (oblique) will be out for up to eight weeks.

NY Yankees vs Atlanta Braves Prediction

I’ll take a stab on the Braves. Morton gave up four earned in 5.0 innings against the Nationals back on June 8, but he returned with a nice effort his last time up. Morton bagged a win over the Rays in that one with just one earned on three hits and two walks. As for Stroman, he’s struggled a bit lately with nine earned in 15.1 innings over his last three starts.

On Friday the Braves were up 8-1 after four innings as Carlos Rodon faded in the start. I like Atlanta to keep it up in game two.
