NY Yankees vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction 6-18-24 Picks

The Baltimore Orioles and the New York Yankees meet Tuesday in MLB action from Yankee Stadium. Here’s a NY Yankees vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction. This will be the first installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

Baltimore Orioles Betting Preview

The Orioles took on the Philadelphia Phillies in their last series. Baltimore lost the opener of that set 5-3 on Friday but came back for wins 6-2 and 8-3 in the remaining games. In Sunday’s victory the O’s posted 10 team hits. Jordan Westburg had two of them along with a homer, three RBI and two runs.

For the starter gig in the Tuesday matchup the Orioles will send out Albert Suarez. This year Suarez is 3-0 with a 1.61 ERA and 37 Ks in 44.2 innings over 14 games (seven starts). Suarez is 6-8 with a 3.70 ERA in 54 career games (19 starts).

New York Yankees Betting Preview

Over on the Yankees’ side, they had some troubles with the Boston Red Sox over the weekend. New York posted a dominant 8-1 win in Friday’s opener but lost the weekend games 8-4 and 9-3. Starter Marcus Stroman put up 5.0 innings with four earned runs on seven hits and four walks in the Sunday loss.

It’ll be Nestor Cortes in the starter slot for the Yankees on Tuesday. So far this year Cortes is 3-5 with a 3.59 ERA and 80 Ks in 87.2 innings over 15 starts. In his career Cortes is 27-16 with a 3.78 ERA in 119 games (71 starts).

NY Yankees vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction

I’ll stick with the Orioles in this one. Suarez is pitching well over his last three starts. He’s given up just three earned on 13 hits and six walks over 15.1 innings total in that trio. Suarez should be able to keep his quality start streak going here. As for Cortes, he’s given up nine earned over his last 16.2 innings, going 0-1 in three starts.

Baltimore’s offense is doing quite well these days. They’ve scored three or more runs in 11 straight games. New York has given up 17 runs in their last two games alone, so the O’s will have plenty of opportunities Tuesday if the Yankees can’t get their pitching together.
