NY Yankees vs Boston Red Sox Prediction 7-7-24 Picks

The Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees meet Sunday in MLB action from Yankee Stadium. Here’s a NY Yankees vs Boston Red Sox Prediction. This will be the final installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

Boston Red Sox Betting Preview

Boston did well against the Miami Marlins in their last series. The Red Sox won all three of those games 8-3, 7-2 and 6-5, then kept it going with a win 5-3 over the Yankees on Friday. In game two Boston was pummeled in a 14-4 loss. Starter Josh Winckowski lasted 3.2 innings with three earned runs.

In the starter role for the finale the Red Sox are sending out Kutter Crawford. This year Crawford is 4-7 with a 3.47 ERA in 17 starts. Crawford is 13-22 with a 4.33 ERA in 70 career games (53 starts).

New York Yankees Betting Preview

Over on the Yankees’ side, they’ve suffered an embarrassing slide lately and lost in a sweep to the Cincinnati Reds 3-2, 8-4 and 5-4 this week. Following their rough Friday loss, in game two New York notched seven runs in the fifth inning alone. Gerrit Cole gave up four earned in 4.1 innings of work as starter.

It’ll be Luis Gil in the starter role for the Yankees on Sunday. So far this year Gil is 9-4 with a 3.41 ERA in 17 starts. Gil is 10-5 over his career with a 3.51 ERA in 24 starts total.

NY Yankees vs Boston Red Sox Prediction

I’ll stay with the Red Sox. Gil has struggled mightily over his last three starts, so Boston should have some early opportunities. In that trio Gil is 0-3 with 16 earned runs in 9.1 innings total. As for Crawford, he’s 2-1 in his last three with seven earned in 18.1 frames combined.

On Saturday the Red Sox had a 4-3 lead going into the bottom of the fifth but lost the handle from there. Boston could only get one hit off the Yankees pen, a 4.2-inning effort that deserves quite a bit of credit after a shaky Cole outing. This one seems like a coin flip but Boston should have a good shot at taking the series Sunday.
