NY Yankees vs Boston Red Sox Prediction 9-14-24 MLB Picks

The Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees meet Saturday in MLB action from Yankee Stadium. Here’s a NY Yankees vs Boston Red Sox Prediction. This will be the third installment in a four-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Yankees vs Red Sox pick.

Boston Red Sox Betting Preview

Boston played pretty well versus the Baltimore Orioles this week, winning two of their three games. After a 2-1 loss to New York in their opener, on Friday the Red Sox took a tough loss 5-4 after blowing a 4-0 lead. Richard Fitts finished on 5.0 innings in the start with no earned, two hits and three walks.

As starter for Saturday the Red Sox are going with Brayan Bello. This year Bello is 13-7 with a 4.70 ERA in 27 starts. Bello is 27-26 with a 4.50 ERA in 68 career games (66 starts).

New York Yankees Betting Preview

Over on the Yankees’ side, they played the Kansas City Royals in their last series. New York split the first pair before a 4-3 win Wednesday. In game two versus Boston, the Yankees got a grand slam from Aaron Judge in the comeback victory. Clarke Schmidt bagged 5.2 innings and two earned as starter.

It’ll be Gerrit Cole in the start for the Yankees on Saturday. This year Cole is 6-4 with a 3.36 ERA in 14 starts. Over 314 career starts Cole is 151-79 with a 3.17 ERA.

NY Yankees vs Boston Red Sox Prediction

I’ll stick with the Yankees. I could probably go either way, though. Cole has been pretty good over his last two starts. In that pair he’s a tepid 1-1 but has just one earned run in 12.0 total frames. As for Bello, he’s coming off 5.1 innings and two earned in a win over the Orioles.

On Friday the Yankees had one explosive inning in the seventh but otherwise there wasn’t much happening on offense. I’d like to see New York’s bats working more consistently Saturday but they should have a good shot at another W.
