NY Yankees vs LA Dodgers Prediction 6-7-24 Picks

The Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees meet Friday in MLB action from Yankee Stadium. Here’s a NY Yankees vs LA Dodgers Prediction. This will be the first installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Preview

The Dodgers took on the Pittsburgh Pirates in their early-week series. Los Angeles took a tough 1-0 loss in the opener of that set, then on Wednesday the Dodgers took a 10-6 loss. In the finale Los Angeles scored six runs in the fifth inning alone on the way to an 11-7 win. Walker Buehler lasted 3.0 innings in the start with three earned on seven hits and one walk.

As starter for Friday’s opener, the Dodgers are going with Yoshinobu Yamamoto. This year Yamamoto is 6-2 with a 3.32 ERA over 12 starts (the first 12 starts of his career). He’s got 76 Ks in 65.0 innings.

New York Yankees Betting Preview

Over on the Yankees’ side, they played the Minnesota Twins in their last set. New York powered out a 5-1 win in the opener of that series. In game two the Yankees kept it up with a 9-5 win. In the finale, New York powered out an 8-5 victory. Starter Marcus Stroman finished with 4.2 innings, five earned, six hits and two walks.

In the starting pitcher slot for Friday New York will send out Cody Poteet. So far this year in his two starts Poteet is 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA and 10 Ks over 11.0 innings. Poteet is 4-4 with a 4.13 career ERA in 21 games (11 starts). The Yankees will face the Royals following this series.

NY Yankees vs LA Dodgers Prediction

I might take a stab on the Dodgers here. Yamamoto has a tall order in corralling the Yankees offense, but he’s capable of posting a good outing here. Yamamoto put up four earned in 5.0 innings on six hits and two walks versus the Reds on May 26, but came back with 6.0 innings and one earned during a win versus Colorado his last time out.

On Thursday the Dodgers got off to a hot start with four runs in the first inning. LA ended up with 14 team hits (but did have three errors) in the high-flying victory. Mookie Betts (two runs) and Freddie Freeman (home run) each had three RBI. The Dodgers will need to keep the offense humming on Friday.
