Over on the Yankees’ side, they played the San Francisco Giants in their last series. New York did well in that one, bagging three straight wins 6-2, 7-3 and 7-5 for a sweep. In the Sunday finale the Yankees scored four runs in the ninth inning. Juan Soto finished with three hits, three runs, three RBI and two homers.
It’ll be Luis Gil in the starting pitcher role for the Yankees on Tuesday. This year Gil is 7-1 with a 1.99 ERA and 79 Ks in 63.1 innings over 11 starts. Gil is 8-2 with a 2.61 ERA in 18 career starts.

I’ll stick with the Yankees. Gil should be able to post another good start here. Over his last three outings Gil is 3-0 with just two earned runs in 20.1 innings total on eight hits and five walks. As for Ober, he’s got two rough starts and one good outing in his last trio. Ober put up two earned in 5.0 innings versus the Rangers, but combined versus the Royals and Guardians Ober notched 11 earned in 9.0 combined innings during a pair of losses.
New York’s bats were working well in the Giants series. The Yankees posted 20 runs over three games, which gives them six or more runs in four straight outings. I like New York to keep it going as they return home Tuesday.
