NY Yankees vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction 4-7-24 Picks

The Toronto Blue Jays and the New York Yankees meet Sunday in MLB action from Yankee Stadium. Here’s a Blue Jays vs Yankees prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game. We will examine:

Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview

Toronto lost two of three games to the Houston Astros this week. The Blue Jays managed to take the Friday opener of the Yankees series 3-0 however, thanks in part to a solo homer from Ernie Clement. On Saturday in game two, Toronto lost 9-8 despite a valiant comeback effort. Eight different players had one RBI, and Ernie Clement had a pair of runs.

For the starting pitcher job in the Sunday finale, the Blue Jays will send out Bowden Francis. In his first start of the season, Francis took a loss against Houston with seven earned in 5.1 innings. Francis is 1-1 with a 2.98 ERA in 22 career games (one start).

New York Yankees Betting Preview

Over on the Yankees’ side, they were able to win two of three versus the Arizona Diamondbacks this week. New York couldn’t do much on six team hits Friday, though. In the Saturday game the Yankees beat up starter Kevin Gausman for 1.1 innings and five earned runs. Giancarlo Stanton posted three hits with a solo homer along the way.

It’ll be Luis Gil in the starting pitcher role for the Yankees on Sunday. On April 1 versus the Diamondbacks Gil went 4.2 innings with one earned in a no-decision. In eight career starts Gil is 1-1 with a 3.55 ERA and 49 Ks in 38.0 innings.

Blue Jays vs Yankees Prediction

I’ll lean toward the Yankees here. Gil didn’t play terribly in his first start this year versus Arizona, notching 4.2 innings, one earned, one hit, three walks and six Ks. If he can get to five innings without too much damage Sunday the Yankees should be in good shape.

In the Saturday matchup New York really got into some trouble on the mound in a couple of spots, however the win is in the books. Juan Soto, Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo each had two RBI in a really solid night for the offense. I like the Yankees to keep it going on Sunday.
