Philadelphia Phillies vs Colorado Rockies Prediction 4-17-24 Picks

The Colorado Rockies and the Philadelphia Phillies meet Wednesday in MLB action from Citizens Bank Park. Here’s a Rockies vs Phillies prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game. We will examine:

Colorado Rockies Betting Preview

The Rockies played the Toronto Blue Jays over the weekend and lost two of three games in that set. Colorado would then fall 2-1 to Philadelphia on Monday. In game two the Rockies took a shutout loss 5-0 despite seven team hits. Starter Austin Gomber went 5.1 innings with one earned on five hits, and Ryan McMahon went 2-for-4 on offense.

In the starting pitcher role on Wednesday the Rockies will send out Ryan Feltner. In three starts this year Feltner is 1-1 with a 3.38 ERA and 18 Ks in 16.0 innings. Feltner is 7-15 with a 5.80 ERA in 35 career games (34 starts).

Philadelphia Phillies Betting Preview

Over on the Phillies’ side, they were able to win two of four games versus the Pittsburgh Pirates over the weekend before their Monday victory. On Tuesday Philadelphia got a combined two homers, five RBI and three hits from Bryce Harper and JT Realmuto in the victory.

It’ll be Christopher Sanchez in the starting pitcher role for the Phillies on Wednesday. Over his three starts so far Sanchez is 0-2 with a 3.52 ERA alongside 15 Ks in 15.1 frames. Sanchez has a 4.09 ERA and a 6-9 record in 44 career games (25 starts).

Rockies vs Phillies Prediction

I’ll probably take a crack at the Rockies as a value play. Feltner has been pitching well over his last two starts. In that pair he’s given up three earned in 11.0 innings on 10 hits and four walks. As for Sanchez, he’s coming off a tough-luck loss with one earned on four hits and three walks in 6.0 frames versus the Pirates.

On Tuesday the Rockies didn’t have too bad of an offensive evening—despite drawing just one walk—however the team couldn’t cash in on anything. The pen (specifically Tyler Kinley) had some troubles as well. Colorado needs to avoid the bad innings in Wednesday’s matchup, but I think they’ve got a reasonable shot at a W.
