Royals vs Angels Prediction 9/2/25 MLB Picks Today

In this article we will formulate a Royals vs Angels prediction for this MLB game on Tuesday, September 2nd at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this MLB matchup.

Kansas City Royals Betting Preview

The Kansas City Royals are 70-67 this year after they lost two out of three against Detroit by scores of 3-5, 3-1, and 0-5. In their game three loss, Kansas City battled for most of the game, but allowed four runs in the fifth for the loss. The Royals recorded four hits in the game and they were led by Garcia, who had two hits in the loss. KC started Wacha, who allowed five hits and four earned runs over 4.2 innings for the loss, while four pitchers closed out the game.

Prior to that series, the Royals won two out of three against the White Sox, but did lose two out of three against the Tigers before that. Kansas City has won three of their last five games and they are currently second in the AL Central standings. The Kansas City pitching staff has a 3.65 ERA with a 1.25 WHIP and a .241 opponent batting average, while the offense has scored 529 runs with a .246 batting average and a .307 on base percentage this season. Vinnie Pasquantino has led KC with 28 home runs and 94 RBIs, while Salvador Perez has added 23 home runs and 77 RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for Kansas City is Michael Lorenzen, who is 5-8 with a 4.62 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP over 113.0 innings pitched this year.

Los Angeles Angels Betting Preview

The Los Angeles Angels are 64-73 this season after they split four games with Houston by scores of 0-2, 4-1, 3-0, and 3-8. In their game four loss, Los Angeles led 3-2 in the fourth inning, but failed to score over the last five innings in the defeat. The Angels recorded seven hits in the game and they were led by Adell, who went 2-4 with one home run and two RBIs in the loss. LA started Kikuchi, who allowed eight hits and five earned runs over 5.2 innings for the loss, while Burke allowed three earned runs in relief.

Prior to that series, the Angels lost two out of three against the Rangers and all three against the Cubs. Los Angeles has lost four of their last six games and they are currently fourth in the AL West standings. The Los Angeles pitching staff has a 4.75 ERA with a 1.44 WHIP and a .261 opponent batting average, while the offense has scored 584 runs with a .229 batting average and a .302 on base percentage this season. Taylor Ward has led LA with 30 home runs and 94 RBIs, while Jo Adell has added 31 home runs and 84 RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for Los Angeles is TBD.

Royals vs Angels Prediction

Kansas City comes into this series just 2.5 games out of the final wild card spot, so they need to take advantage of playing the Angels here. The Royals are 37-32 at home this year, while the Angels are 30-38 on the road. Los Angeles is just one game ahead of the A’s for last in the West, but they have not announced their starter for this one. KC is going with Lorenzen, who has allowed seven earned runs and 16 hits in his last 9.1 innings. I don’t love it with Lorenzen’s recent struggles, but I will back KC -1.5 here in a must win spot.
