The San Francisco Giants come into this one looking to build on their 7-2 win over the Dodgers from Monday night. Buster Posey and Thairo Estrada each had two RBIs with Posey belting a two-run home run while Estrada went 2 for 4 with a solo home run and a double. Austin Slater had a double and an RBI, going 2 for 2 at the dish, while Wilmer Flores added a solo home run of his own and Jake Vosler added an RBI as well to finish off the scoring for the Giants in the victory. Alex Dickerson went 2 for 4 at the dish while Lamonte Wade Jr. and Donovan Solano each had base hits as well to cap off the offense for the Giants in the victory. Kevin Gausman allowed two runs on three hits while striking out five over three innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Jarlin Garcia got the win in relief to improve his record to 2-2 on the year. Alex Wood will start here and is 8-3 with a 3.67 ERA and 87 strikeouts this season. in his career, Wood is 2-2 with a 2.80 ERA and 35 strikeouts against the Dodgers.
The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to rebound from their loss at the hands of the Giants on Monday. Max Muncy and Justin Turner each had a solo home run to make up the scoring for the Dodgers in the loss while Zach McKinstry had a double and A.J. Pollock added a base hit as well to finish off the offense for the Dodgers as L.A. had just four hits as a team in the losing effort. Tony Gonsolin took the loss, falling to 1-1 on the year after allowing three earned runs on five hits while striking out three over 3.1 innings of work. It’s hard to really gauge what we’re going to see from the Dodgers from a pitching standpoint, but either way, I’m still rolling with the Giants here. San Francisco has risen to the occasion time and time again and with a lot of weight in the division race coming with these games, I think the Giants come in with that much more of an edge.
