New York Yankees Recap

The New York Yankees come into this one looking to build on their 6-2 series-opening win over the Giants on Friday. The win helped the Yankees get off on the right foot once again after back-to-back series wins over the Angels and Padres over the last week.

Yankees Still Solid At The Dish

San Francisco Giants Recap

The San Francisco Giants will look to rebound after a series-opening defeat at the hands of the Yankees on Friday, not the start that the Giants were looking for after series wins over the Phillies, Mets and Pirates over the last week and a half.

Giants Starting To Sputter Offensively

Entering Friday’s matchup, Thairo Estrada leads the Giants with 52 hits along with a team-high 8 home runs and 31 RBIs while also chipping in 11 doubles. Michael Conforto has 40 hits with 7 home runs, 7 doubles and 20 RBIs while Matt Chapman has a team-high 51 hits of his own alongside 14 doubles with 8 homers, 27 RBIs and 5 stolen bases. Chapman also has the dubious distinction of leading the Giants with 55 strikeouts this season.

Why the San Francisco Giants will win

San Francisco Giants vs NY Yankees Prediction

I’m on the Giants here. Fading the Yankees is never an easy proposition to deal with, with the potent bats the Yankees have in that lineup. However, Webb has been much better at home over the course of his career and this season has been no different. Poteet had a decent start in his lone outing at the big league level this season, but the Giants should be able to get to him as this San Francisco lineup has been solid over the last couple of weeks despite stumbling in their last couple of games. I also trust the Giants’ bullpen a lot more than I do the Yankees if we’re being honest, so give me the Giants here.
