Guardians Preview

The Cleveland Guardians are 3-1 this season after they won three out of four games against the Athletics in their first series. Cleveland won the first three games in the series by scores of 8-0, 6-4, and 12-3, but lost game four by a score of 4-3. The Cleveland pitching staff has a 2.83 ERA with a 1.14 WHIP, and a .216 opponent batting average. The Guardians offense has scored 29 runs with a .290 batting average and a .376 on base percentage. Jose Ramirez is batting .200 with one home run and four RBI’s for the Guardians. The projected starting pitcher for Cleveland is Triston McKenzie, who was 0-3 with a 5.06 ERA and a 1.56 WHIP over 16 innings pitched last season.

Guardians vs Mariners Betting Prediction

Cleveland had the luxury of opening their season with a four game series against the lowly Oakland Athletics and they were able to win three of those contests, but they will face a much better opponent here. Seattle split a four game series with Boston at home, which is a slightly disappointing result to start the season. Both of these starting pitchers saw very limited innings in 2023, but I think McKenzie is poised for a breakout season. This should be an entertaining series to watch, but I am going with Cleveland to win game one.
