Kansas City Royals Recap

The Kansas City Royals will try to bounce back after starting the series with a 6-2 loss to the Mariners in Monday’s series opener. It wasn’t the ideal start to the series if the Royals are going to keep up their series win streak after taking down the Angels and Brewers in back-to-back series.

Royals Still Solid, But Fall Flat In Opener

Going into Monday’s matchup, Bobby Witt Jr. leads the Royals with 50 hits including 5 home runs, 21 RBIs, 5 triples and 11 doubles while Salvador Perez has a team-high 8 home runs and 33 RBIs with 48 hits of his own. Nelson Velazquez also has a team-high 39 strikeouts while Witt Jr. has a team-high 15 stolen bases and Maikel Garcia has 4 home runs, 24 RBIs and 9 stolen bases this season.

Seattle Mariners Recap

The Seattle Mariners come into this one looking to build on their series-opening win over Kansas City, which was a step in the right direction after knocking off the Oakland A’s in their last series.

Mariners Keep On Rolling

Julio Rodriguez leads the Mariners with 41 hits including a .255 batting average and also has 5 doubles. Cal Raleigh has a team-high 10 home runs along with 23 RBIs while Jorge Polanco has 5 home runs with 13 RBIs and a team-high 52 strikeouts. Seattle Mariners vs Kansas City Royals Prediction

I’m on the Mariners here. I was on Kansas City in Monday’s opener and was left with egg on my face after that and it’s hard to get back on Kansas City here. Will the Royals be fine? Absolutely, but Wacha isn’t necessarily the steady hand that I thought he was going to be when the Royals picked him up in the offseason, as he’s been getting hit somewhat hard in recent outings. I think that the Mariners bounce back here as Gilbert was pitching well before an off outing last time out, and Gilbert’s pitched his better outings at home this season anyway. Give me Seattle in this one.
