The Tampa Bay Rays and the St. Louis Cardinals meet Wednesday in MLB action from Busch Stadium. Here’s a St. Louis Cardinals vs Tampa Bay Rays prediction. This will be the second installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Cardinals vs Rays pick.

Tampa Bay Rays Betting Preview

Over the weekend the Rays took on the Houston Astros. Tampa Bay lost the first game but then came back to win 6-1 and 1-0 in the remaining pair. On Tuesday versus the Cardinals, the Rays took a tough loss 4-3. Starter Jeffrey Springs logged 5.0 innings and four earned runs.

It’ll be Taj Bradley in the start for the Rays on Wednesday. This year Bradley is 6-5 with a 2.71 ERA in 15 starts. In his career Bradley is 11-13 with a 4.29 ERA in 38 games (36 starts).

Erick Fedde will take the ball for the start on Wednesday. This year Fedde is 7-5 with a 3.34 ERA in 22 starts. Fedde is 28-38 with a 4.96 career ERA in 124 games (110 starts).

St. Louis Cardinals vs Tampa Bay Rays Prediction

I’ll stay with the Rays. Bradley does need a better start here than his last one. On July 31 versus the Marlins. Bradley took the loss in 5.0 innings on four earned runs. Over 13.0 innings prior however, Bradley posted zero earned. As for Fedde, he’s got eight earned over his last two starts—both losses.

On Tuesday the Rays really only had the one bad inning on the mound. That said, the bats couldn’t come through outside of Brandon Lowe’s two-run homer and Jonny DeLuca’s RBI. I like Tampa Bay to turn it around Wednesday if Bradley is on point, though.
