Tampa Bay Rays vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction 6-8-24 Picks

The Baltimore Orioles and the Tampa Bay Rays meet Saturday in MLB action from Tropicana Field. Here’s a Tampa Bay Rays vs Baltimore Orioles prediction. This will be the second installment in a four-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

Baltimore Orioles Betting Preview

The Orioles played the Toronto Blue Jays in their last series. Baltimore won the first two installments of that set, then fell 3-2 and 6-5 in the remaining pair for a tie. On Friday versus Tampa Bay, the Orioles bagged a 6-3 win with nine team hits. Starting pitcher Cole Irvin finished on 5.2 innings, two earned and eight hits.

In the starter role for the O’s on Saturday it’ll be Kyle Bradish. This year Bradish is 1-0 with a 3.18 ERA in six starts. Bradish has 40 Ks in 28.1 innings. Over his career Bradish is 17-14 with a 3.63 ERA in 59 starts.

Tampa Bay Rays Betting Preview

Over on the Rays’ side, they took on the Miami Marlins this week in a pair of matchups. Tampa Bay managed to win both of those games 9-5 and 5-3 for a series victory. On Friday versus the Orioles, the Rays had nine hits and never held a lead. Aaron Civale lasted 5.0 innings in the start with four earned on seven hits and a walk.

It’ll be Taj Bradley in the starter role for the Rays on Saturday. This year Bradley is 1-3 with a 5.81 ERA and 32 Ks in 26.1 innings over five starts. Bradley is 6-11 with a 5.63 ERA in 28 career games (26 starts).

Tampa Bay Rays vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction

I’ll probably lean toward the Orioles in this one. At least some of that is due to Bradley’s recent struggles. In two of his last three starts (both losses), Bradley combined for 14 earned runs on 15 hits and three walks in just 10.1 innings. The good news is that Bradley did manage 5.0 clean innings versus the Royals on May 26.

On Friday the Orioles got home runs from Anthony Santander, Ryan Mountcastle (two RBI) and Jordan Westburg (two hits; two RBI) as the vast majority of their offense. The pen was great as well on 3.1 innings, one hit, no earned, one walk and two Ks. I like Baltimore to keep it rolling into the weekend.
