Tampa Bay Rays vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction 8-11-24 MLB Picks

The Baltimore Orioles and the Tampa Bay Rays meet Sunday in MLB action from Tropicana Field. Here’s a Tampa Bay Rays vs Baltimore Orioles prediction. This will be the final installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Rays vs Orioles pick.

Baltimore Orioles Betting Preview

Baltimore played the Toronto Blue Jays this week, bagging a 7-3 win Wednesday. The other two games were losses however, 5-2 and 7-6. Following a 4-1 win over the Rays in the opener, on Saturday the O’s kept it up with a 7-5 victory. Starter Corbin Burnes finished with 6.0 innings and three earned.

Starter for the Sunday finale will be Baltimore’s Albert Suarez. This year Suarez is 5-4 with a 3.66 ERA in 23 games (15 starts). Suarez is 8-12 with a 4.15 ERA in 63 career games (27 starts).

Tampa Bay Rays Betting Preview

Over on the Rays’ side, they took on the St. Louis Cardinals in their last set. Tampa Bay lost the first two games of that series but stopped the sweep with a 6-4 win in the finale. On Saturday the Rays were down 4-0 by the end of the second. Drew Rasmussen struggled in the start with three earned in just one inning.

It’ll be Jeffrey Springs in the starter role for the Rays on Sunday. This year Springs is 0-1 with a 6.23 ERA in two starts. Springs is 21-11 with a 3.48 ERA in 140 career games (32 starts). The Rays will take on the Astros after this series.

Tampa Bay Rays vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction

I’ll probably stay with the O’s. Suarez needs a good start, though. He did fine in his last outing, notching 5.0 clean frames versus the Blue Jays. Suarez had six earned in 6.1 innings prior to that, however. As for Springs, he’s got six earned in 8.2 innings of limited work this year.

On Saturday the Orioles jumped out to a nice start and finished off with three runs in the eighth. Baltimore got three hits from four different players in a pretty encouraging effort. I like the O’s to keep it up Sunday.
