The Miami Marlins will try to rebound from ending up on the wrong end of a 7-3 loss at the hands of the Rays on Saturday. The Tampa Bay Rays will try to build off of their win over Miami after clinching the division on Saturday. Randy Arozarena leads the Rays with 138 hits along with 31 doubles and 3 triples while Joey Wendle has a team-high 4 triples and a .274 batting average. Brandon Lowe leads Tampa Bay with 34 home runs while Austin Meadows has a team-high 103 RBIs and Yandy Diaz has a team-best .357 OBP this season. Shae Baz is expected to start here and is 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA and 5 strikeouts this season.
Miami is 2-5 in their last 7 games overall and 14-37 in their last 51 road games while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 interleague games. Tampa Bay is 43-17 in their last 60 home games and 38-15 in their last 53 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 Sunday games.
I get the case that could be made either way here, as the Rays are simply playing for positioning here and the Marlins well, they’re only playing for pride and not much else. With that said, I’m leaning towards the over here as the positioning for both teams hasn’t stopped the runs from coming in the first two games of the series. I think we finish the set with another offensive explosion, so give me the over here.
