Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview

The Jays played the Texas Rangers in their last set. Toronto lost the first pair 13-8 and 2-0 before a 4-0 win Thursday. On Friday versus the Rays, the Jays took a 1-0 loss.

For Saturday’s starter job the Jays are sending out Yariel Rodriguez. So far this year Rodriguez is 1-6 with a 4.29 ERA in the first 19 starts of his MLB career.

Tampa Bay Rays Betting Preview

Over on the Rays’ side, they played the rival Boston Red Sox this week. Tampa Bay lost 2-1 Wednesday but won the other pair. On Friday the Rays posted six team hits in a defense-heavy victory.

It’ll be Taj Bradley as starter for Saturday. This season Bradley is 6-11 with a 4.39 ERA in 23 starts. Bradley is 11-19 with a 4.93 ERA in 46 career games (44 starts).

Tampa Bay Rays vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction

I’m leaning toward the Jays. Rodriguez doesn’t have any decisions yet this month but he’s pitching pretty well overall. In his three September outings Rodriguez has just two earned runs in 12.1 innings total. As for Bradley, he’s given up nine earned over his last three appearances in 17.1 frames.

On Friday the Jays could only muster five team hits in a pretty rough display offensively. Toronto was great on the mound however, and used just two bullpen arms. I like the Jays to bounce back Saturday but they’ve got to get some offense going.
