The Cleveland Guardians and the Texas Rangers meet in MLB action from Globe Life Field on Saturday.
The Cleveland Guardians will look to build on their 6-3 win over the Rangers in Friday’s matchup. Jose Ramirez has 155 hits, 28 home runs and 117 RBIs along with a .281 batting average while Owen Miller has a .246 batting average with 25 doubles as well this season. Ramirez also has 42 doubles and Steven Kwan has 155 hits with 22 doubles as well as a .296 batting average this season. Ramirez has 4 triples while Amed Rosario has 8 triples as well as a team-high 169 hits and Andres Gimenez has a .302 batting average on the year. Cal Quantrill will start here and is 13-5 with a 3.56 ERA and 116 strikeouts this season.
The Texas Rangers will try to bounce back after their loss to the Guardians on Friday. Nate Lowe has 169 hits and a .306 batting average with 25 doubles while Adolis Garcia has 25 home runs and 95 RBIs. Corey Seager also has 139 hits, 32 homers and 82 RBIs and Marcus Semien has 31 doubles, 23 home runs and 77 RBIs while the aforementioned Garcia has 143 hits and 31 doubles as well on the year. Glenn Otto will start here and is 6-9 with a 4.88 ERA and 92 strikeouts this season.
Cleveland is 15-3 in their last 18 games overall and 4-1 in their last 5 Saturday games while the under is 8-2 in their last 10 game two matchups. Texas is 7-17 in their last 24 games overall and 0-4 in their last 4 Saturday games while the under is 12-3 in their last 15 games against a team with a winning record.
I get the reasoning for backing the Rangers as a home underdog as Otto hasn’t been all that bad for them this season. However, this Guardians team is red hot right now and is closing in on an AL Central title while the Rangers are just playing out the string and at times don’t even look like they’re interesting in playing spoiler. Plus, Quantrill’s been one of the more consistent options the Guardians have had in the second half so I’ll lay it and play it with the Guardians here.
