The Cleveland Guardians and the Texas Rangers meet Sunday in MLB action from Globe Life Field. This will be the finale in a three-game weekend series. The Guardians took a win in the opener, then on Saturday Cleveland kept it going with another victory. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Cleveland posted five runs in the sixth inning Friday on the way to a 6-3 victory. In the Saturday game two, the Guardians posted six hits in a 4-2 win. Starting pitcher Cal Quantrill put up 6.0 innings, one earned, five hits and three walks.

Starter for the Sunday finale will be Cleveland’s Aaron Civale. In his 17 starts so far Civale is 2-6 with a 5.29 ERA. In 80.0 innings he’s got 47 earned on 82 hits and 21 walks with 77 Ks.

Over on the Rangers’ side, they had an early 2-0 lead in the opener but couldn’t hang on. In the Saturday game, Texas out-hit the Guardians 7-6 in the loss. Glenn Otto managed 5.2 innings in the start with one earned, three hits and a walk.

Starting pitcher for the Sunday game will be Cole Ragans. Over seven starts this year Ragans is 0-2 with a  5.40 ERA. In 30.0 innings total he has 18 earned on 33 hits and 14 walks with 22 Ks.

The Guardians are 4-0 in their last four in game three of a series and 16-5 in their last 21 overall. The under is 6-2 in Cleveland’s last eight versus a lefty starter.

Meanwhile, the Rangers are 21-43 in their last 64 in game three of a series and 7-18 in their last 25 overall. The under is 12-4 in Texas’ last 16 versus a team with a winning record.

PICK: I’m going to stay with the Guardians. Civale has been decent lately with seven earned over his last three starts in a span of 16.0 innings. In that time Civale has given up 12 hits and five walks. As for Ragans, he’s got nine earned over his last 8.2 innings in two starts. I like Ragans to take a step forward here, but it’s probably Cleveland’s game to lose.
