Texas Rangers vs Minnesota Twins Prediction 8-18-24 MLB Picks

The Minnesota Twins and the Texas Rangers meet Sunday in MLB action from Globe Life Field. Here’s a Texas Rangers vs Minnesota Twins prediction. This will be the final installment in a four-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Rangers vs Twins pick.

Minnesota Twins Betting Preview

In their last series, the Twins played the Kansas City Royals. Minnesota won the first two games of that set 8-3 and 13-3 before a 4-1 loss Wednesday. The Twins won the first two versus the Rangers, then on Saturday Minnesota powered out a 5-2 win.

Starter for the finale will be the Twins’ Pablo Lopez. So far this year, Lopez is 11-8 with a 4.67 ERA in 24 starts. Lopez is 50-47 with a 3.99 ERA in 150 starts over his career.

Texas Rangers Betting Preview

Over on the Rangers’ side, they took on the Boston Red Sox in their last set. Texas lost 5-4 and 9-4 in the first two games before a 9-7 win in the finale. On Saturday, the Rangers blew a 2-1 lead in the eighth inning.

In the starter slot for the Rangers on Sunday will be Tyler Mahle. So far, Mahle is 0-1 with a 2.79 ERA over his two starts. In 125 career games (124 starts) Mahle is 33-42 with a 4.28 ERA.

Texas Rangers vs Minnesota Twins Prediction

I’ll lean toward the Twins. Lopez had a shaky start on August 6 versus the Cubs, posting four earned in 5.0 innings during a loss. In the other two of his last three starts, however, Lopez is 2-0 with a combined four earned in 12.0 frames. As for Mahle, he’s coming off 4.2 innings and two earned in a no-decision versus Boston.

On Saturday the Twins had a pretty modest night at the plate, but the bullpen came through with 4.0 innings, no earned, two hits and no walks. I like Minnesota to bag another win Sunday to keep their run going.
