Toronto Blue Jays vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction 8-7-24 MLB Picks

The Baltimore Orioles and the Toronto Blue Jays meet Wednesday in MLB action from Rogers Centre. Here’s a Toronto Blue Jays vs Baltimore Orioles prediction. This will be the second installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Blue Jays vs Orioles pick.

Baltimore Orioles Betting Preview

In their last series the O’s played the Cleveland Guardians. Baltimore managed two wins in that set 7-4 and 9-5 after dropping the first two games. In their opener versus the Blue Jays Tuesday, the Orioles couldn’t only muster three hits in a 5-2 loss. Albert Suarez managed 5.0 clean frames in the start.

In the starter slot for Wednesday the O’s are going with Trevor Rogers. So far Rogers is 2-10 with a 4.76 ERA in 22 starts. Rogers is 15-33 with a 4.30 ERA in 81 career starts.

Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview

Over on the Blue Jays’ side, they played the New York Yankees over the weekend. Toronto won 8-5 in the opener but then dropped the next pair for a series defeat. On Tuesday versus the Orioles, the Jays scored all their runs in the sixth inning. Starter Chris Bassitt finished with 7.0 innings and two earned runs.

Bowden Francis will start for the Blue Jays on Wednesday. This year Francis is 4-3 with a 5.64 ERA in 18 games (four starts). Francis is 5-3 with a 3.86 ERA in 39 career games (four starts).

Toronto Blue Jays vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction

I’ll stay with the Jays I suppose. Staying away from this one, though. Francis is 1-1 in his last three outings with three earned (all in one appearance) in 8.0 innings total. As for Rogers, he’s coming off five earned on six hits and three walks in 4.1 innings during a loss to Cleveland.

On Tuesday the Jays had one big inning but that was enough to secure the victory. Most of the credit goes to the pitching staff otherwise. After Bassitt’s start, the pen held up with 2.0 clean frames, no hits, one walk and three Ks. I think the Jays have a good shot at another W Wednesday but it’s a coin flip.
