Toronto Blue Jays vs NY Yankees Prediction 4-16-24 Picks

The New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays meet Tuesday in MLB action from Rogers Centre. Here’s a Yankees vs Blue Jays prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game. We will examine:

New York Yankees Betting Preview

The Yankees took on the Cleveland Guardians over the weekend, winning two of the three games in that series. On Monday versus Toronto, New York fell behind early in a 3-1 loss. Luis Gil posted three earned runs on three hits and seven walks in 5.0 frames, and Oswaldo Cabrera had the lone RBI.

For the starter job in the Tuesday game the Yankees will send out Carlos Rodon. In three starts this year Rodon is 1-0 with a 1.72 ERA and 13 Ks in 15.2 innings. Rodon is 60-54 with a 3.79 ERA in 169 career games (164 starts).

Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview

Over on the Blue Jays’ side, they played a series versus the Colorado Rockies over the weekend and also won two of three games. In the Monday matchup Toronto didn’t score after the third inning but held on for the victory after holding the Yankees to just four hits. Chris Bassitt finished with 6.1 innings, one earned, four hits and two walks.

It’ll be Yusei Kikuchi in the starting pitcher role for the Blue Jays on Tuesday. Across his three starts so far Kikuchi is 0-1 with a 2.30 ERA and 20 Ks in 15.2 innings. Kikuchi is 32-38 with a 4.65 ERA in 137 career games (125 starts).

Yankees vs Blue Jays Prediction

I’ll take a stab on the Blue Jays here. We should have a pretty good starter matchup if both guys are on point, though. Kikuchi has given up just one earned over his last two starts in 11.1 innings. He’s yet to win a game in three tries, though. As for Rodon, he’s surrendered just three earned in 15.2 total innings of work this year.

On Monday Toronto was able to beat up Gil for seven walks which helped immensely in the victory. Granted, there wasn’t much going on at the plate otherwise for the Jays. Alejandro Kirk posted two hits, one RBI and a run, though. Toronto will likely play another tight one here but I think they’ve got a good shot at a second W in this set.
