USA TODAY Sports
Clint Hester enters this fight with a 11-4 record and has won 73 percent of his fights by knockout. Hester has won seven of his last eight bouts but is coming off a November loss to Robert Whittaker. Hester is averaging 3.78 significant strikes per minute with an accuracy percentage of 43.1 percent. Grappling, Hester has a takedown average of 0.97 and an accuracy percentage of 44.4 percent. Hester has improved technically and his wrestling ability, but he’s an athlete and a striker at heart. Hester moves around the ring well and wins most of his fights with his punches. Headbussa has not produced a submission victory in the UFC. This will be Hester’s first fight in Brazil and third time fighting out of the United States.
Both fighters should be comfortable for this match, as neither really wants to be on the ground wrestling the other. Miranda wants to land kicks to the head and body, while Hester is at his best when throwing punches and taking more of a boxing approach. However, Hester is the more balanced fighter of the two and can cause far more damage. To mention he’s eight years younger.
Look for Hester to bounce back and pick up a victory here.
