Bryan Barberena enters this fight with a 11-3 record and has won 82 percent of his fights by knockout. Barberena has won five of his last six fights and is coming off a January win over Sage Northcutt. Barberena is averaging 5.01 significant strikes per minute with an accuracy percentage of 49.1 percent. Barberena is averaging 0.82 takedowns with an accuracy percentage of 50 percent. Barberena is a clear striker at heart who throws accurate and powerful punches that have helped produce eight knockouts. However, Barberena has proven he’s comfortable on the canvas as well with two of his last four wins coming by submission. Still, Barberena would rather fight standing up and hopes to land that big haymaker to turn the tide. This will be Barberena’s first fight in Brazil and second outside the United States.
Alves hasn’t shown any real reason to bet against him, as he’s looked great in his UFC career and is a nightmare once he gets his opponent on the canvas. Barberena may be in over his head, especially with this fight taking place in Brazil, as the crowd is going to be nuts for the hometown kid.
Expect Alves to remain undefeated after this fight.
