The UFC Fight Night 135 main card has produced a much-anticipated fight in the welterweight division as Bryan Barberena from the USA will take on countryman, Jake Ellenberger. Both these fighters are exceptionally talented and have been fighting in the UFC for some time. This should ensure we get a great contest in the octagon.
Bryan Barberena enters this fight with an MMA record of 13 wins and 5 losses. While this is decent enough, Bryan Barberena’s UFC record is concerning as it currently stands at 4 wins and 3 losses. This is very poor for a fighter as talented as the American and it is something that needs to improve if Bryan Barberena wishes to remain in the UFC. The past few years have seen Bryan Barberena jump from welterweight to lightweight and back to welterweight. This continuous changing of weight category might have caused the poor result and the fighter will hope that now he is settled at this weight, he should be able to perform much better than he has in the past for the UFC.

His opponent, Jake Ellenberger is also a fighter desperate for a win. Ellenberger has lost 8 of his last 10 fights and it surprising to see that he is still on the UFC roster. The American will know that he is cutting in thin with the patience of the UFC and that he must start winning soon. It is sad to see Jake Ellenberger in this state as he was once a very promising MMA fighter with a record of 12 wins and no losses. Jake Ellenberger has the skills to win but after so many losses, I am not sure his mental stage is well enough.
While both fighters desperately need to win, only one fighter can win and I think that will be Bryan Barberena. Jake Ellenberger has turned into the loser we all support but I think he will continue being the loser as he simply looks like a man that lacks confidence. Confidence is vital in MMA and I think that will cost Jake Ellenberger in this fight.
