The UFC Women’s Flyweight Championship title will be on the line at UFC 228 as champion, Nicco Montano, defends her title against Valentina Shevchenko from Kyrgyzstan. Both these fighters are UFC superstars and are incredibly talented and skilled. This is a huge fight for both these competitors so we should be able to witness both Montano and Shevchenko at their best. This means we should be able to witness an incredible contest.
Nicco Montano enters this fight with an MMA record of 4 wins and 2 losses. While this is a decent record, it shows that the champion is very inexperienced. This will be the first time that she defends her title and it will be interesting to see how she handles the pressure of being champion. The fight where she won this title was an epic 5 round battle and although Montano didn’t dominate her opponent, she did show a fighting spirit which was very commendable. This will be a much tougher fight for the champion because she is fighting a legend and it will be interesting to see how she performs.

The challenger, Valentina Shevchenko is one of the best female fighters. She is ranked number 1 in the flyweight division and she will feel that she is deserving of the title. Shevchenko is a great fighter and has been fighting for a long time. She is one of the best kickboxers in the MMA and it will be amazing to see her perform in that discipline. Shevchenko will know that this is her chance to be a champion after she failed to take her last opportunity. The only issue might be that the change in weight for Shevchenko as this is her second fight as a flyweight. That being said, she is a top fighter and I think she will be more than capable of adjusting.
I am predicting Shevchenko to win. She is the better fighter and has much more experience on the big stage. Valentina Shevchenko failed the last time she had a title opportunity but I don’t think she will fail twice. I see a new champion being crowned.
