Khalil Rountree and Modestas Bukauskas fight Saturday in UFC Fight Night 191 at the UFC Apex. Rountree enters this fight with a 8-5-1 record and has won 63 percent of his fights by knockout. Bukauskas enters this fight with a 11-4 record and has won 73 percent of his fights by knockout.

Rountree has lost three of his last four fights and is coming off a January loss to Marcin Prachnio. Rountree is averaging 3.06 significant strikes per minute with an accuracy percentage of 38 percent. Rountree is averaging zero takedowns with an accuracy percentage of zero percent. Rountree is coming off a decision loss at UFC 257 where he landed 50 total strikes and 33 percent of his significant strikes. Rountree still hasn’t won a fight since UFC 236 more than two years ago. Rountree is an underrated athlete who does his best work from the outside, uses his length and is a tricky southpaw. With knockout power in both hands and good at mixing in leg kicks, Rountree likes his chances whenever in a stand up fight. The downside is that Rountree has questionable takedown defense and doesn’t want to fight on the ground. Rountree has never won a fight by submission. This will be Rountree’s fourth career fight in Nevada.

Bukauskas has won seven of his last nine fights and is coming off a March loss to Michał Oleksiejczuk. Bukauskas is averaging 3.77 significant strikes per minute with an accuracy percentage of 35 percent. Bukauskas is averaging zero takedowns with an accuracy percentage of zero percent. Bukauskas is coming off a decision loss at UFC 260 where he landed 62 total strikes and 34 percent of his significant strikes. Bukauskas has lost each of his last two fights and looks for his first win since UFC on ESPN 13. Bukauskas is a 27-year-old from Lithuania who comes from a kickboxing background and does his best work on the feet. Bukauskas moves well, avoids damage standing up and has eight knockout wins on his resume. Bukauskas hasn’t shown much ground game in the UFC, but he does have two submission victories, both coming by rear-naked choke. However, Bukauskas has won each of his last six fights by knockout. This will be Bukauskas’ second career fight in Nevada.

It’s been a while since Rountree has looked good, so while he has the ability to turn things around, it’s tough to look his way from a betting standpoint. Bukauskas will be able to fight the fight he’s comfortable with, he switches stances well and he’s the bigger fighter here with better defense on the feet. You can also argue Bukauskas won his last fight, for whatever that’s wroth.
