We continue the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series this Sunday afternoon in the GEICO 70 at the virtual Talladega Superspeedway. Last week, we were in pretty good shape and even had Brad Keselowski giving us a run for our money with +4000 odds. We eventually cashed the smaller ticket with Will Byron and +200 odds, but a victory is a victory at the end of the day. Let’s look forward to this weekend.
Here are five drivers to consider throwing on this week’s card.
William Byron, +375 - Things won’t come as easily for William Byron this weekend with him starting in the rear of the field, but it’s impossible to leave him off the card nonetheless. Byron has finished in the top-three in all four races, has won two of those races and has led 318 laps overall, which is head and shoulders the most of any driver. Until Byron shows he’s human or you have to lay juice to bet on him, you have to put him on the card.
Ryan Preece, +1400 - Ryan Preece is another driver who will have to work for a victory this week with him starting toward the back of the pack. Still, we’re getting Preece and a chance to make 14 times our money. Preece has been one of the more consistent drivers in eNASCAR iRacing and his 67 led laps are the second most of any driver up to this point.
Brad Keselowski, +4000 - We gave Brad Keselowski a shot last week at +4000 odds despite poor performances previously, and he hovered around the top-five for a chunk of the race to provide hope. We might as well give him another shot this week. Keselowski not only looks more comfortable last week, but he’s very familiar with Talladega, winning at this track five times and earning the NASCAR Cup Series trophy in 2009 at this track.
Dale Earnhardt Jr., +800 - Fans and bettors pound Dale Earnhardt Jr. in these events, so the odds aren’t as good as they should be. I still like Earnhardt’s chances given his consistency of finishing in the top-10 and his 28 led laps overall, which is fourth among all drivers. Of course, Earnhardt is no stranger to Talladega, winning at this track six times in his history in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. It feels like this is the week for Dale to get a victory.
Kyle Busch, +1200 - Kyle Busch got off to a slow start, but he’s improved the last two weeks with back-to-back top-five finishes, and now his 93.8 Driver Rating is good for seventh among 38 drivers. You have to be intrigued by what you’re seeing from Busch as of late, and he’s always been a threat at Talladega despite the lack of victories.
