The Chicago Bulls finally get Derrick Rose back for the regular season, but the Bulls are up against it already as Chicago heads to Miami on Tuesday to face the Heat.
The Miami Heat are coming off another title victory last season, and will be looking to make it a three-peat this year. The Heat start off tough, hosting the Chicago Bulls and Derrick Rose on Tuesday night. Miami has looked solid in the preseason, going 5-3 overall, but like in the NFL; it’s hard to take much out of the preseason. Suffice it to say, no matter what you saw, the Heat are again going to be really, really good. Miami has Oden as the big man in the middle, and if he can stay healthy, he will be a force for this team.

The Chicago Bulls have Derrick Rose back this season. That’s a good thing. Rose is one of the better players in the league, and even though the Bulls were solid last season, especially defensively, Chicago missed their playmaker. Rose has been on fire in the preseason, although like I said above with Miami; take that with a grain of salt. Rose hasn’t seen the pressure defenses are going to put on him in the regular season, and once play starts for real on Tuesday, I’ll be watching to see if Rose favors his ACL at all, as there is almost always a mental block to get over after an injury so severe.
Going back to last season, the Bulls are 8-15 ATS in their last 23 games, and the total has gone over in four of the last five road games for the Bulls. The total has also gone over five of the last seven times the Bulls have met the Heat. The Miami Heat are 5-1 overall in their last six games against the Bulls, and the Heat are 12-3 overall in their last 15 games at home against the Bulls.
This should be a fun game to watch, but I have to take Chicago in this spot. This is Rose’s coming back party, and what better way to celebrate than a win against the Heat, in Miami, as the league honors the Heat with some new fancy rings. The Heat are poised to make another run at the title, but on Tuesday I find it tough to imagine they will be fully focused on Chicago with all the added distractions.
