The Brooklyn Nets hit the road to take on the Orlando Magic tonight.
The Nets sent an early message to the rest of the league by taking down the defending champs by 101-100 on Friday night thanks to 19 points apiece from Paul Pierce and Joe Johnson. What's more impressive is that they did so with Deron Williams playing just 27 minutes as he remains under a minutes restriction. With the win, the Nets ended a 13-game skid against the Heat and sent them to consecutive losses for hte first time since Jan 8-10. Brooklyn is now 1-1 on the season after falling to the Cavaliers by 98-94 on opening night.

Meanwhile, the Magic started the season with losses to the Pacers and the Timberwolves but are coming off an impressive win, beating the Pelicans by 110-90 on Friday night. Arron Afflalo led the way with 30 points on 10 of 14 shooting, while Maurice Harkless had 20 points and eight rebounds in just 27 minutes. As a team, the Magic shot an impressive 55.7 percent from the field and 11 of 22 from the three point line, while holding the Pelicans to just 34.8 percent from the field.
Head to head, the Nets won all four meetings against the Pelicans (formerly known as Hornets) last season, going 3-0-1 ATS.
The Magic looked really good in their first home game of the season but that was the Pelicans. Winning against the new-look Nets is a whole new challenge and it would be a major upset if they win again tonight. I'm taking the Nets to cruise to a win by double digits.
