The Toronto Raptors head to Charlotte on Wednesday to square off against the Charlotte Bobcats.
The Charlotte Bobcats are sitting at 2-2 this season after defeating the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden 102-97 on Tuesday night. The Bobcats are getting it done with strong defensive play this season, and if Charlotte can keep this pace up, the Bobcats could be a tough out, especially on their home court. Charlotte is currently scoring just 89.8 points per game, but like I said their defense is the unit getting it done for them as the Bobcats are ranked 7th in the league, allowing just 95.5 points per game. The Bobcats aren’t a team that spreads the ball around a lot, but they did that well on Tuesday as five different players reached double digit points and all of which were either even, or plus in the plus/minus stat line.

The Toronto Raptors, like the Bobcats are sitting at 2-2 this season. Like Charlotte, the Bobcats are playing very well defensively, but Toronto has a higher scoring offense than that of the Bobcats, as the Raptors are scoring an average of 95 points per game. Toronto is also one of the best rebounding teams in the league, as the Raptors are grabbing an average of 47.5 rebounds per game. The Raptors squared off against the Heat on Tuesday, and though they played Miami tough, the Heat were just too much for Toronto as the Raptors fell at home 104-95.
The Raptors are a solid 7-2 overall in their last nine games, but Toronto is just 4-13 against the number in their last 18 games against the Bobcats. Toronto is also just 3-8 overall in their last 11 games against the Bobcats. The total has gone over the number in four of the last six for Toronto as well.
The Charlotte Bobcats are 5-1-1 against the spread in their last seven games, and the total has gone over the number in four of the last six for Charlotte. The Bobcats are also playing tough at home, as the Bobcats are 6-1 overall in their last seven home meetings.
I’m going to take the Bobcats at home in this spot, but really this is just a slight lean at best. There are angles to take on both sides, but the fact that the Raptors have to travel to Charlotte on no rest is tough, especially after playing the Heat. I fell the Raptors are the better team, especially on the boards where Toronto is killing it right now, but getting points at home, where the Bobcats are tough is where I want to be on this one.
